Erich Dovenmuehler is an EBD (Emotional and Behavior Disorder) resource teacher for Mayo High School. He teaches social skills to students with emotional and behavioral disorders and works with their intellectual properties. He often engages with the students in group activities and checks in on them throughout the week to monitor their success.

Having lived in the Twin Cities for the first ten years of his life before moving to Eden Prairie, Mr. Dovenmuehler started his college education at RCTC and later went to Saint Cloud State. He completed his masters at Concordia University in St. Paul.

Mr. Dovenmuehler’s career in education started in St. Paul, where he worked as a paraprofessional. Then, he worked with people dealing with chemical dependency in Fargo, North Dakota. After this, he got a teaching license for social studies and used his job experience and qualifications as an avenue to teaching in special education. After only three weeks of searching, he was offered a job at Mayo.

Mr. Dovenmuehler loves working with his new peers and thinks they’re the absolute best. In his free time he enjoys sports such as soft ball, fishing, and hunting. His other interests include fantasy football, every kind of food, and fist-bumping to good music.
