Get ready, GOFA Futsal is back. On December 14 at 6:00 p.m., Mayo High School is hosting its 5th annual GOFA Futsal Tournament. With fast-paced action and plenty of excitement, this is one of Student Government’s most popular and unique events of the year.
Teams of 6-10 can sign up through the link on @mayostudgov or by scanning the posters around school. It’s $10 per person to play. You can pay in cash at the event. Student Government is also looking for players to bring futsal balls or small soccer nets to use at the tournament.
The format of the tournament will be a 3-game round robin, with the strongest of the teams moving on to a single elimination tournament to crown the champion. Each game will be 6v6, lasting 10-15 minutes long.
If you want to compete, sign up your team; all are welcome. In past years, there have been notable teams such as XCFC, comprised of cross country runners, a U60 team, comprised of people from ages 40-60, and of course, Mayo High School boys soccer varsity. It would be great to see an alumni team or two out there, and maybe a team from the staff.
If you want your chance to win the coveted GOFA Futsal 2025 trophy, or just want to have some fun with your friends, sign up and show up on December 14th at 6 pm in the Mayo High School gym.
