Hello there! My name is Katie Brown. I was born in Rochester, MN and am currently a senior at Mayo High School. I take part in Mayo’s Marching Band and Science Olympiad. Outside of school, I spend my time volunteering at Pinewood Elementary School, alpine skiing, and bikejoring with my dog, Bear.

Journalism is important because it reminds us of how we are all connected in some way. We share the same feelings of success, sadness, hopefulness, frustration, and yet, we are left to form our own opinions. In this way, we can understand each other, disagree with each other, and perhaps accept each other.

Through journalism, I aspire to gain experience in writing unbiased articles and taking pictures to capture slivers of life at Mayo High School.
