Every drop of blood counts

The final blood drive of the year is on Wednesday, May 16 and Thursday, May 17 at the door 6 foyer between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm on Wednesday and until 2:30 on Thursday. It is important for all eligible Spartans to consider donating blood since it is a worthy cause that helps save up to three lives per donation.

If you can sign up in advance, please take a screenshot of QR code in the next page and it will take you right to that google form. Then completely fill out the Google Doc to register for a donation slot. Pre-registration also makes it easier for the Mayo Clinic Blood Donor Center, so they can look up information and be ready to serve you when you come to them.  You should automatically receive an email after you click submit on google doc. If people are 18 years old age or older, then they can just show up at their appointment time and fill out/sign all the necessary forms.

On the day of the donation, don’t be afraid of the pain; it’s just a little pin prick. Some nurses say it hurts less than if you snap a rubber band against your skin. Instead, think of all the good you are doing by sharing your healthy blood with those in the community who will desperately need it.

When you arrive at your scheduled time, you do need to make sure that you have a photo ID with you. Your driver’s license or school ID will work. If you are 16 or 17 you need to bring a completed forms (with parent signature) added.
