Hi, my name is Josh Collins, and I am one of the writers for Mayo High School’s online news forum, The Advocate. I am currently a senior, and moved to Rochester in the 6th grade. Before that I lived in Chisago Lake it’s just north of the of cities. My main interests are mainly sports like baseball, basketball and occasionally tennis. I am also the leader of a club here at Mayo known as FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes).

I think the Mayo Advocate is important because it can inform all the student at Mayo about the different activities going on everyday. The Advocate could be a sense of unity among not only the students but also the staff in the building. Somethings that Journalism has taught me are that when you take you take a picture, there is more to be said then just the picture. People will really understand the pictures when you have a strong caption to explain the picture.
