Tucker Zincke, Staff Writer

I am Tucker Zincke, a staff writer for the Mayo Advocate. The things I love to do involve adventuring, being in nature, or working on classic cars like a 1969 Chevelle SS or a 1970 Chevy Nova. One thing I love doing on cool summer nights is to go out in the woods and listen to the birds and watch the fireflies. I also love traveling. One of my goals is, at some point in my life, to own a Lamborghini Aventador. One place I would love to visit someday is London, because it’s so large and there are so many interesting, historical streets to explore. The farthest I have traveled so far is to Puerto Rico last year over summer for a mission trip, an amazing experience to say the least. I am thankful for the many opportunities to travel that I have been given, and I appreciate all of those who have helped me improve my mechanical skills, working on cars.

Journalism is a way for people to record the history of the moment.  If journalism weren’t around, how would we know what happened in the past? How could we know about society’s past mistakes that we might learn from? The news surrounding the Great Depression is a good example of this. If we didn’t have the newspaper, we never would have known about it or how to improve our economy and avoid such a disaster in the future.

One thing I’d like to learn more about through journalism involves the many steps that a staff must go through before an article is ready for publication.
