Where did you go to high school?
“Lawton-Bronson High School, in northwest Iowa. Rochester is similar to Sioux city, so not bad moving wise,”
What exactly is your job?
“[I’m a] sports performance coach through Mayo Clinic. And now, hall monitor because hours are restricted to 20 hrs, so I am supplementing my income, and becoming more involved with the school,”
Did you have any first day of school jitters?
“I was kind of nervous about athletes seeing me in a different context. And how it would be trying to get respect from students in a different aspect,”
Have you had any strange encounters?
“Mostly weirdness on [the students’] end. I didn’t tell anyone I got the job,so they are shocked to see me without my athletic stuff,”
Did you always want to be a coach?
” I wanted to work at college level with strength and conditioning, they are more advanced and mature. When I was little I wanted to be a professional football and baseball player. I realized in high school that I wasn’t good enough, so I had to scale back,”
