Red Wing High School is home of the Wingers and also home of a victory against the Mayo Spartans. The Wingers handed the Spartans their first loss of the New Year.  The 2016 match had an end score of 67-45. The Spartans got off to a slow start in the game having a deficit of 17 until seniors D’Ante Ross and Levi Poppe checked into the game. The seniors grinded the deficit to 3 until the second half happened. The Wingers putt up an impressive 38 points in the second half alone. While Red Wing was red hot the Spartans were cold, shooting 38% from the field.  2016 may have started off with a loss, but there is plenty more basketball to be played in the last stretch of the winter season.
