RPD Kindness Contest!

2020 has been a challenging year for everyone. That’s why the Rochester Police Department is sharing positivity taken from our own community, by hosting a contest!

Students in kindergarten through high school will be able to participate by submitting an act of kindness they’ve seen or committed recently to [email protected] by 12:00pm on December 15th, including their name, grade, school, and email address. The acts of kindness submitted, whether they be a fully written paragraph describing the event or a drawing with a light caption depicting the act, will then be reviewed by the Rochester Police Department officers and staff. After judging the entries, factoring in the grade and age of each contributor, 11 winners will be chosen by vote.

Each winner will receive a $25 Target gift card, and the results will be posted to the Rochester Police Department’s facebook page (@RochesterMNPD) on December 21st. They will also be posted here on the Mayo Advocate website!

The purpose of this contest is to bring some joy to others in these trying times. The focus of the contest is to spread cheer to those who may be feeling down during the pandemic. Hopefully this will lift the spirits of those who may be struggling during this difficult time,” SRO Arendts said.

We would love to see your entries here on the Advocate, so please participate by emailing in your submissions by December 15th!
