GOFA season is here, which means there are tons of activities fit for so many students and teachers. If you’re into art, creating, and fun, all while raising money for GOFA, then the Post-It Note art contest may be something to consider.

 

What it is:

The Post-It Note art contest is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a contest where you submit a piece of your art that has been drawn on a 3×3 yellow Post-It note with either a pen or pencil. The entry fee is $1. The contest will run from now until Monday, the 17th of December. The winning entries will be posted on Wednesday the 19th. Winners will receive movie passes to Cinemagic and vouchers for popcorn.  Winners will also be featured in Spartan Scene and The Mayo Advocate.

There will be other different categories offered with different prizes as well. Judging will be done by the Dr. Mayo candidates (who show up to vote) as well as members of Student Government.

 

Categories:

  • Favorite chosen by judges  

(win 2 movie passes and 2 vouchers for a medium popcorn and a large drink.

A feature on Spartan Scene and The Mayo Advocate)  

This prize is valued at over $25!

  • The one that raises the most money by donation.

(win 2 movie passes) This prize is valued at $13

  • Best representation of GOFA

(win 1 Chipotle entree as well as candy and $10 that you must apply to penny wars)

  • Best representation of Mayo Spartans

(win 1 Chipotle entree as well as  candy and $5 that you must apply to penny wars)

 

Rules:

  1. You must use a 3×3 inch yellow Post-It note as your art canvas.
  2. You must be the one to do the drawing; no outside art can be added to it.
  3. It must be a drawing but can be done in pencil or pen.
  4. Content should not be objectionable to Mayo High School rules of appropriateness.
  5. There is no theme to the art you make.
  6. You may submit as many as you would like, but you have to pay for each entry.
  7. The entry fee is $1 – BRING EXACT CHANGE!
  8. Register at the GOFA sign-up tables in the cafeteria with Student Government.

 

How to Register:

If you’re interested in registering you can register at the GOFA sign-up tables in the cafeteria with Student Government.

 

Reminder: You must use a 3×3 inch yellow Post-It note as your art canvas.

See Mr. Perry in room 2-248 if you would like one from him (You can register with him too). When you are finished, turn in your art to him (2-248) with your full name printed clearly on the back. You may come to get these back on Friday, the 21st. Entries will be displayed in his room, with those being honored on a special display at the top of Door 6 stairs. We hope to see you and your art soon!
