The Messengers

Noah Hoover, Staff Writer

When a mysterious object falls to Earth in a blinding flash, it sends out a shockwave that knocks scientist Vera Ivanov, and five others, unconscious. The shock wave causes them to die, and then they come back to life. Vera, Raul, Peter, Joshua, Erin, and Koa Lin are the main characters in this TV show.  The first episode wasn’t very appealing to me, the way the first episode is portrayed is different than the others. The first episode was just introducing the characters, and what they did in their life before they were chosen to become an Angel. As the episodes go on the six characters slowly get their ability as time goes on and when they are ready they are able to use the special skill/ability. With each one of these unique abilities they will push themselves to the limit to take out the Horsemen. Out of all the traits the six characters have, I would choose the ability to heal others when they are hurt or they have died. With that ability I could heal the people that are the closest to me or I could patch myself up if I get any injury.

The Angels are normal people, who have been chosen from God to stop the apocalypse from happening and the rapture of earth. Thankfully, in real life there will be no annihilation of the planet and all of the people that live on Earth will live in peace and harmony through the rest of their lives. The individuals in the TV show that are trying to annihilate the planet are call the Horsemen, the Horsemen are humans that have been recruited by the devil to try and break all seven seals of the apocalypse. The Horsemen are the villains and they are assigned to one specific part of the annihilation. The four parts of the annihilation are War, Death, Pestilence, and Famine. The way the four parts are portrayed makes makes me want to start up another episode and finish the whole TV show in one sitting. If you’re one of the people who likes to sit down and finish off a whole season of a show I’d recommend this show because you will easily get addicted and the next thing you know the whole TV is over cause you haved watched them all.

One thing I didn’t like about the show was that there was this one male character who plays the role of the devil, he tricks and plays with the Angels. The show is worth watching if you like Sci-fi, fantasy shows, and major cliffhangers. If you are looking for a new TV show to watch, I highly suggest watching this show. You will get easily attached to it, and want to keep watching it until you have no more episodes to watch.
