With a time of 21:05.0 Savanna Vold got thirteenth place at the 2016 Mankato West Invite.

The Mayo Girls Cross Country Team has only seven varsity runners on their team. They may be a small team, but they are big winners. In the last three races, Jennifer Clark, Courtney Grandbois, Kendall Pfrimmer, Lara Pfrimmer, Payton Scripture, and Savannah Vold accomplished third place rankings over all. At the Jim Flim Invite, these runners competed against 15 other schools and did very well. In fact, Kendall Pfrimmer was the overall winner finishing four seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. Jennifer Clark and Savannah Vold finished in the top 11 against 90 other runners. The rest of the team also did their best and contributed to the third place win.

At the 2016 Mankato West Invite Kendall Pfrimmer got second place with a time 19:36.7. She was 55 seconds behind Anastasia Korzenowski from the Chanhassen team.

Now the biggest question everyone is asking: can they hold this third place or will they go on to higher rankings?

The outlook is good for the Varsity team because Kendall Pfrimmer and Savannah Vold are both under the top 10 for the last few races.

The JV Mayo Girls Cross Country team is also very good. At the Jim Flim Invite in Winona, they also got third place. They had to run against 13 other teams and did very well.

The student body would like to congratulate the Cross Country team for their amazing work this season.
