We all know that loud mouthed uncle whose politically incorrect views always manage to get a snicker and a somber headshake. Now amplify that sensibility by a power of ten and project it onto the standup comedian Bill Burr and those are his standup special and his animated show F Is for Family streaming now on Netflix. Burr’s political incorrectness doesn’t manifest in a way that is comparable to the likes of Larry the Cable Guy, rather he knows he is misinformed and actually makes the points others don’t think to make. He isn’t always wrong, but even when he is, Burr is able to make a lesson out of it. His rage humor sparks enjoyment throughout his rants. Bill Burr is must watch stand up comedy.

“I will extend an olive branch” is a recurring idiom that Burr says to further back his logic and offer up a less intense mind frame for reference. It may be flawed but it is certainly raw and hilarious. To try and explain a joke of his does his material no justice. Burr’s delivery is perfect when he is able to change into different voices and cadences in tone to show his contrarian viewpoints. He talks about the likes of how plastic surgery is still totally botched, that the population needs a drastic check, and that you shouldn’t honestly be that surprised when someone old says something racist. Is Steve Jobs such the genius all claim him to be? Well according to Burr, he plain and simply isn’t. BUrr questions, did Jobs actually go out and invent the device, or did he just tell a whole bunch of smart people to put his music library in this device? Taking his stances takes courage, and simply, if you don’t buy his way of thinking, Burr can convince you through divisive yelling.

To watch a special by Burr is to leave you in stitches laughing. His humor is refreshing, and his work is a must watch. He has a total of three standup specials streaming on the platform and they progressively get better with time. His early work is hilarious and the latter is even better. His animated show, F Is for Family is an unconventional look at family life that he wrote, produced, and voiced the main character. Bill Burr is decisively the funniest standup performer in the game right now, and his entire catalog is must watch Netflix for any occasion.  **For mature audiences.
