Have You Ever Seen the Rain?
What is it about the rain?
That makes us feel brand new
It seems to take away our pain
At least for me, I don’t know about you
The rain brings renewal
Rejuvenates everything around us
The grass becomes an emerald jewel
Sloppy with mud, but not a big fuss
Watching water trickle down the windshield
Don’t we all love a carwash for free?
It brings the freedom of an empty field
That has to be a favorite for me
The rain itself is so life giving
Keeping our plants lush and green
Rain makes a life worth living
When it comes down hard I’m always keen
The rain cools us down
Keeps us all calm and mellow
It takes away my frown
Blocked out, the sky without yellow
We all need a good splash
Looking for just the right puddle
Life passes in a flash
Spinning fast, it begins to muddle
The rain will keep us young
Feel the joy of a child
Forget the phone that rung
This storm is only mild
We stay in, but look out
Watch the gray colored sky
Have some time to pout
The clouds too, begin to cry
Put away the notebook
Head to the cinema for a show
Stay home and cook
It’s a day to relax and lie low
The covers are meant to stay under
Half pitter and half patter
Give me sun or give me thunder
I’ll be happy to take the latter
Water brings us change
It leaves us fresh and inspired
Given this wide range
It’s best to start and end the day tired
What will this day be?
Take some time to feel the moisture
Solid ground becomes like the sea
Open yourself up, be an oyster
Even the end will be fantastic
It’s worth the wait I know you know
Leaving us all quite ecstatic
Because after the rain comes the rainbow.
